The goal of this one semester graduate course is to study some fundamental properties of operators on Hilbert spaces and Banach spaces. Moreover, we will try to cover some important applications of functional analysis to partial differential equations and approximation theory. The material of this course is taken from the suggested three reference books, 50% from Conway's book, 25 % from Lax's book and 25% from Kreyszig's book.
